A quick note about a recent discovery used in the character/puppet creation process. After hours of working and reworking gobs of Fimo, I discovered a method for preping the clay in a matter of seconds.

The wonders of pasta making machines. They’re simple devices that are readily available in my Italian neighbourhood of the East Side of downtown Vancouver, Canada. For about $50 Canadian, a perfect blend of clay can be created with very little effort. Simply feed the clay through the pasta machine, mixing different types of polymers by such manufactures as Fimo and Super Sculpey producing the perfect blend.

Fimo (too hard) + Super Sculpey (too soft) equals perfection. I’ll spare you the exact measurements as the “perfect blend” is really a matter of taste. With the wonders of this machine you can now afford to play and try different combinations with minimal effort - enjoy!
