Elle s’appelle - Little Flame

November 16th, 2007 · No Comments

The technique of using time laps photography as a means to create stop-motion animation continues to be a popular technique particularly within the music video genera. In this case, Elle s’appelle has created some fun object animations including the use of lights and candels to the very catchy tune “Little Flame”.

From the interview on junkielovers.com:

But yeah, the name Elle s’appelle came from the idea of giving the band a Spanish name like ‘El Niño’ or something not quite as crap… After trying loads of words after ‘El’ to find something that meant nothing but sounded good, I looked up El sappelle because I liked the sound of it. When I typed it out, it corrected as Elle s’appelle. It looked really pretty the way it was written and I remembered it from GCSE French at school. It means ‘She is called’. We thought it was perfect. Lucy from the band is a complete Francophile too so naturally she loved it!

Another tune by Elle s’appelle called “She Sells Seashells” on M-Channel October 29, 2007. Note the super cute Lucy on the Korg keyboard, it makes a boy dream yummy thoughts.

A little bit more about the band from Mill Milk Lemonade blog:

Elle s’appelle is a three piece pop outfit consisting of members Andrew Donovan (vocals, bass), Lucy Blakeley (keyboards, vocals) and Owen Cox (drums) from Liverpool UK…
