Last month Vancouver was blessed with a stop-motion animation contest called Trick 17 with the goal of:
30 teams compete over 3 days to write, shoot and edit a 1 to 3-minute Stop Motion Film. But wait, there’s a catch; teams will be provided with a sealed Top Secret style category, theme and INSPIRATION Package. With categories such as Stikfas, Claymation or Paper and themes such as Music Video, Movie Trailer and Commercial, animators will be challenged to work with familiar and unfamiliar mediums.
The winner of the contest was the Vancouver Film School (VFS) team. Congrats on the great results for your team, there’s nothing like a pressure cooker to get results… aka the VFS in general. Special hats off considering the music provided was crap but I guess that was part of the challenge. I wish I could have been there to participate.
