Madame Tutli Putli

January 24th, 2008 · No Comments

The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) presents a stunning, stop-motion animated film that takes the viewer on an exhilarating existential journey. The film introduces groundbreaking visual techniques and is supported by a haunting and original score. Painstaking care and craftsmanship in form and detail bring to life a fully imagined, tactile world unlike any you have seen. Details of the film can be found at the NFB web site.

The Making Of…

Animatic

In the summer of 2001, there was a National Film Board peer review, where six reviewers spent a day looking at film proposals to provide recommendations. One of those films was Madame Tutli-Putli, and Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski presented the review board with an animatic—a rough animated presentation of what they intended for the film—as part of their proposal. A few elements have remained almost exactly the same over the course of six years, but many are strikingly different.
